Planning the drop in Crieff

Bulk bags are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; very large quantities can be priced as loose tipped loads where access allows. Crieff is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
  • Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.

How much will you need?

An 8 × 4 m area at 150 mm compacted is 4.8 m³. At about 2.1 tonnes per cubic metre plus 10% that is 11.1 tonnes, or around 14 bulk bags. Try the sub-base calculator

Virgin or recycled?

Recycled Type 1 can be a good option where it meets the specification; ask what your project or local authority requires.

How deep?

Patios and paths commonly use around 100 mm of compacted sub-base, and domestic driveways around 150 mm or more. Soft ground or heavier vehicles need more; your designer or installer will confirm.

Common questions from Crieff

How much MOT Type 1 do I need?

Multiply the area by the compacted depth to get cubic metres, then allow about 2.1 to 2.2 tonnes per cubic metre. At 100 mm deep, a tonne covers roughly 4.5 square metres.

Can you tip it loose?

For larger quantities we can price a loose tipped load if the lorry can reach and there is space to tip.

Can you deliver MOT Type 1 to a site with restricted access in Crieff?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Crieff?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
