Delivering MOT Type 1 in Bexhill-on-Sea

Bulk bags are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; very large quantities can be priced as loose tipped loads where access allows. Bexhill-on-Sea is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • On busy streets in Bexhill-on-Sea, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
  • If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
  • Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.

How much will you need?

A 10 × 5 m area at 150 mm compacted is 7.5 m³. At about 2.1 tonnes per cubic metre plus 10% that is 17.3 tonnes, or around 21 bulk bags. Try the sub-base calculator

Choosing MOT Type 1

Compaction

Lay and compact in layers with a plate compactor. Allow extra material because it compacts down.

How deep?

Patios and paths commonly use around 100 mm of compacted sub-base, and domestic driveways around 150 mm or more. Soft ground or heavier vehicles need more; your designer or installer will confirm.

MOT Type 1 Sub-base questions

Can you deliver MOT Type 1 to a site with restricted access in Bexhill-on-Sea?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

How soon can MOT Type 1 be delivered in Bexhill-on-Sea?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Can you tip it loose?

For larger quantities we can price a loose tipped load if the lorry can reach and there is space to tip.

What is the difference between Type 1 and scalpings?

Type 1 is graded to a specification so it compacts into a strong, stable layer. Scalpings are less controlled and suit less demanding areas.
