Delivering MOT Type 1 in Berkshire
Bulk bags are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; very large quantities can be priced as loose tipped loads where access allows. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Berkshire.
- Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
- On busy streets in Berkshire, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
- If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
Things to check before you order
How deep?
Patios and paths commonly use around 100 mm of compacted sub-base, and domestic driveways around 150 mm or more. Soft ground or heavier vehicles need more; your designer or installer will confirm.
Virgin or recycled?
Recycled Type 1 can be a good option where it meets the specification; ask what your project or local authority requires.
Your questions answered
What is the difference between Type 1 and scalpings?
Type 1 is graded to a specification so it compacts into a strong, stable layer. Scalpings are less controlled and suit less demanding areas.
Do you deliver MOT Type 1 to Berkshire?
Yes. We deliver across Berkshire, including RG, SL, GU. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Berkshire. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.
Does Type 1 drain?
Type 1 is reasonably free-draining when compacted, which is one reason it is used under drives and patios.
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Berkshire?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
