Steel & Concrete Lintels for Worcester, delivered to site
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Worcester, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Steel & Concrete Lintels: choosing well
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
Working out quantities for your Worcester job
For a 2,700 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 3,000 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Delivery to Worcester: what helps
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Worcester is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
- Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around WR1 are priced to the exact address.
- Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
Common questions from Worcester
Do you deliver lintels to Worcester?
Yes. We deliver across Worcester, including WR1, WR2, WR5. Worcester is inside our standard mainland delivery area. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.
Do I need building control approval for a new lintel?
Making or widening an opening in a loadbearing wall is structural work, so in most cases yes. Building control or an engineer will confirm the lintel.
What is a padstone for?
It spreads a concentrated load, such as the end of a beam, over a larger area of masonry so the blocks or bricks underneath are not crushed.
How soon can lintels be delivered in Worcester?
We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
