Order lintels for delivery in Stonehaven
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Stonehaven, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Choosing lintels
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
Quantities: a worked example
For a 1,200 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 1,500 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Delivering lintels in Stonehaven
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Stonehaven is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
- For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
- Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
Common questions from Stonehaven
Can lintels be delivered with my blocks?
Yes. We combine them on one lorry where the lengths and the route allow.
How soon can lintels be delivered in Stonehaven?
We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
Do I need a building warrant for a new lintel?
Making or widening an opening in a loadbearing wall is structural work, so in most cases yes. The council's building standards service or an engineer will confirm the lintel.
Can you deliver lintels to a site with restricted access in Stonehaven?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
