Steel & Concrete Lintels delivered to Skegness
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Skegness, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Delivering lintels in Skegness
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Skegness is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
- If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
Estimating your lintels
For a 2,700 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 3,000 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Steel & Concrete Lintels: choosing well
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
Which lintel for my opening?
Measure the clear opening, add the end bearing each side, and note the wall type (cavity width, inner and outer leaf) and what sits above. Manufacturers publish load tables; for anything carrying a floor, roof or point load get an engineer or building control to confirm.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
Steel & Concrete Lintels in Skegness: questions
Do I need building control approval for a new lintel?
Making or widening an opening in a loadbearing wall is structural work, so in most cases yes. Building control or an engineer will confirm the lintel.
Do you deliver lintels to Skegness?
Yes. We deliver across Skegness, including PE25, PE24. Skegness is inside our standard mainland delivery area. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.
What is a padstone for?
It spreads a concentrated load, such as the end of a beam, over a larger area of masonry so the blocks or bricks underneath are not crushed.
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Skegness?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
