Steel & Concrete Lintels for Fleetwood, delivered to site
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Fleetwood, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Choosing from our lintels range
- PadstonesConcrete pads that spread the load at the ends of beams and lintels.
- Cavity trays and stop endsTo shed water out of the cavity over openings.
- Heavy-duty and extra-heavy lintelsFor openings carrying floors or a lot of masonry.
- Single-leaf and box lintelsFor solid walls, timber frame and internal walls.
How much will you need?
For a 1,200 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 1,500 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Planning the drop in Fleetwood
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Fleetwood is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
- Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
- On busy streets in Fleetwood, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
Steel & Concrete Lintels: choosing well
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
Steel & Concrete Lintels questions
Do you deliver lintels to trades and homeowners in Fleetwood?
Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
Can you tell me which lintel to use?
We can suggest options from the manufacturers' load tables based on the opening, wall type and load you describe, but for anything structural the final choice should come from your designer or engineer, and be approved through building control.
Do I need building control approval for a new lintel?
Making or widening an opening in a loadbearing wall is structural work, so in most cases yes. Building control or an engineer will confirm the lintel.
How soon can lintels be delivered in Fleetwood?
We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
