Crane offload deliveries: what to expect
A crane offload delivery uses the lorry's own crane to lift pallets and bulk bags from the lorry onto your drop point, so the driver needs safe parking, clear space above the lift, and a firm, level spot within the crane's reach.

How it works
The lorry parks as close as it safely can, puts down its stabiliser legs and lifts each pallet or bag to the agreed drop point. The reach is limited, and the heavier the load the shorter the safe reach.
What we need to know
- Where you want the materials, and how far that is from where the lorry can park.
- Overhead cables, trees, scaffolding or anything above the lift.
- The ground: block paving, lawns and soft ground may not take the weight.
- Any width, height or weight limits on the route.
On the day
Keep people, cars and pets clear of the lift area. If you cannot be there, agree a safe drop point in advance.
If a crane cannot reach
Tell us about tight access when you ask for a price. A smaller vehicle, a tail-lift or kerbside drop may be the answer.
