Damp Proofing & Membranes for Bournemouth, delivered to site
Damp proofing materials stop moisture rising or passing through a building: a damp-proof course (DPC) in the walls and a damp-proof membrane (DPM) under the floor.
Trades and homeowners in Bournemouth can order damp proofing for delivery by sending a list, a drawing or just the sizes of the job.

Damp Proofing & Membranes: choosing well
DPC width
Match the DPC width to the wall leaf so it runs the full width of the masonry.
Is radon protection needed?
Parts of the UK need radon protection in new buildings and extensions. UKHSA radon maps show the areas; building control will tell you what applies.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
Delivery to Bournemouth: what helps
Rolls are light enough to travel with a mixed load and are handed off at the kerb. Bournemouth is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
- Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
Quantities: a worked example
An extension in Bournemouth with 32 m of cavity wall needs DPC in both leaves: about 3 rolls in 30 m lengths once laps are allowed for. A 40 m² floor slab needs about 46 m² of DPM including laps, which is 1 roll of 4 × 25 m sheeting.
Your questions answered
Do you supply cavity trays?
Yes, with stop ends and weep vents for openings and abutments.
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Bournemouth?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
How thick should a DPM be?
1200-gauge polythene, around 300 microns, is a common specification for floor slabs. Your design may call for something different.
Can you deliver damp proofing to a site with restricted access in Bournemouth?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
