Damp Proofing & Membranes delivery in Berkshire

Damp proofing materials stop moisture rising or passing through a building: a damp-proof course (DPC) in the walls and a damp-proof membrane (DPM) under the floor.

We price damp proofing for jobs anywhere in Berkshire; send a list or the sizes of the job and we will quote it delivered.

Working out quantities for your Berkshire job

An extension in Berkshire with 28 m of cavity wall needs DPC in both leaves: about 3 rolls in 30 m lengths once laps are allowed for. A 30 m² floor slab needs about 34.5 m² of DPM including laps, which is 1 roll of 4 × 25 m sheeting.

Delivery to Berkshire: what helps

Rolls are light enough to travel with a mixed load and are handed off at the kerb. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Berkshire.

  • Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
  • Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
  • On busy streets in Berkshire, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Choosing damp proofing

Laps and joints

DPM and DPC need generous laps and sealed joints; follow the manufacturer's guidance.

Is radon protection needed?

Parts of the UK need radon protection in new buildings and extensions. UKHSA radon maps show the areas; building control will tell you what applies.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
