Sizing your order
Setting 10 fence posts in Cheshire usually takes 10 to 20 bags of 20 kg post mix, depending on the hole size printed on the bag. For a base bigger than about half a cubic metre, all-in ballast and cement are usually better value. Compare with site-mixed concrete
Planning the drop in Cheshire
Bags come on a pallet or with a mixed load. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Cheshire.
- Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
- If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
- Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around WA are priced to the exact address.
Things to check before you order
Check the yield
Each bag states the volume it makes. Divide your volume by the yield to get the number of bags.
Bagged or site-mixed?
Bagged mixes cost more per cubic metre but save time, waste and space. For anything bigger than a small pad, site-mixed or ready-mixed concrete is usually better value.
Ordering bagged concrete and mortar for Cheshire: FAQs
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Cheshire?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
Can I add other materials to my Cheshire delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from bagged concrete and mortar to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
When should I use ready-mixed concrete instead?
Once you need more than about half a cubic metre, mixing from bags gets slow and costly; ballast and cement or ready-mixed concrete usually make more sense.
How much does one bag of concrete make?
The yield is on the bag. As a rough guide a 20 to 25 kg bag makes about 0.01 cubic metres of concrete.
