Concrete & Aircrete Blocks delivered to Woking

Concrete blocks are large masonry units, normally 440 × 215 mm on face, that lay at about 10 blocks per square metre; they come as dense aggregate, lightweight aggregate or aircrete (aerated) blocks.

Whether it is a repair, an extension or a new build in Woking, we can supply the concrete blocks and deliver to site.

Getting concrete blocks onto your Woking site

Blocks are banded on pallets and usually crane-offloaded where the vehicle and access allow; tell us the weight limit of any drive or the ground where pallets will sit. Woking is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
  • Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
  • If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Choosing concrete blocks

Dense or aircrete?

Dense blocks are strong and good for sound separation but heavy; a 100 mm dense block can weigh around 20 kg. Aircrete blocks are much lighter and insulate better, which helps with energy targets, but need the right fixings.

Thickness

100 mm is the common inner-leaf thickness. Wider blocks (140, 190, 215 mm) are used for separating walls, single-skin garage walls and foundations.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
