Before you order cement

How much cement do I need?

Work from the mix: a 1:4 mortar or a 1:5 concrete mix tells you the share of cement. Our calculators turn wall or slab sizes into bags.

Working in cold weather

Mortar and concrete should not be laid when temperatures are near freezing. Protect fresh work from frost.

Getting cement onto your Ossett site

Bags come on a shrink-wrapped pallet or as part of a mixed load; keep them covered once dropped. Ossett is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• On busy streets in Ossett, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• In summer Ossett gets around 17h 05m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

How many bags of cement in a cubic metre of concrete?
