Cement: choosing well
Working in cold weather
Mortar and concrete should not be laid when temperatures are near freezing. Protect fresh work from frost.
Storage
Cement goes off if it gets damp. Keep bags on a pallet, covered and off the ground, and order what you will use within its shelf life.
Before your Manchester delivery arrives
Bags come on a shrink-wrapped pallet or as part of a mixed load; keep them covered once dropped. Manchester is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
- In summer Manchester gets around 17h 02m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
