How delivery works in Yeovil

Bulk bags are usually crane-lifted onto a drive or kerb where the vehicle and access allow; small bags travel with a mixed load. Yeovil is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
  • Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
  • Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.

A quick quantity check

A 40 m² floor screed at 65 mm is 2.6 m³: about 4.16 tonnes of sharp sand at a 1:4 mix, or 5 bulk bags at around 850 kg each, plus the cement. Try the sand calculator

Covering bulk bags

Cover bags to stop sand drying out or getting saturated, and keep it clean of debris.

Colour of mortar

Building sand colour changes the mortar colour. For matching existing joints, a sample is worth it.

Can I add other materials to my Yeovil delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from sand to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Can you deliver sand to a site with restricted access in Yeovil?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

What is the difference between building sand and sharp sand?

Building (soft) sand is fine and makes smooth mortar for laying bricks. Sharp sand is coarser, drains better and is used in concrete, screeds and paving beds.
