Getting sand onto your Hitchin site

Bulk bags are usually crane-lifted onto a drive or kerb where the vehicle and access allow; small bags travel with a mixed load. Hitchin is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around SG4 are priced to the exact address.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.

How much sand per 1,000 bricks?

Roughly 1 tonne of soft building sand at a 1:4 mortar mix.

Can I add other materials to my Hitchin delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from sand to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Hitchin?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Can bulk bags go on my drive?

Yes, if the crane can reach and the drive can take the weight. Tell us about any block paving or soft ground.
