What bricks can we deliver to Leyland?

  • Concrete bricksConsistent concrete units in standard and coloured finishes, useful for below-ground work.
  • Special shapesBullnose, cant, coping and plinth bricks to finish sills, piers and wall tops.
  • Brick matchingSend a photo or sample and we will look for the closest match in manufacturers' current ranges.
  • Perforated and frogged bricksHoles or a frog reduce weight and help the mortar key.
  • Engineering bricks, Class A and BDense, low-absorption bricks for below DPC, inspection chambers and retaining walls.

Choosing bricks

Engineering Class A or B?

Class A is the denser of the two and is usually chosen where strength or very low water absorption matters; Class B is the common choice below DPC and for manholes; a brick DPC course in a building needs Class A (DPC1). Your designer or building control may specify one.

Colour consistency

Order everything for one job at the same time so the bricks come from the same production run, then mix from three or four packs as you lay to blend any variation.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Before your Leyland delivery arrives

Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Leyland is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
  • For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.

Quantities: a worked example

Take a garden wall in Leyland 5 m long and 1.2 m high: 6 m². At 60 bricks per square metre plus 5% for cuts that is 378 bricks, roughly 1 pack of 500 depending on the maker, laid in about 0.35 tonnes of building sand and 4 bags of cement at a 1:4 mix. Try the brick calculator

Ordering bricks for Leyland: FAQs

Do you deliver bricks to trades and homeowners in Leyland?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Leyland?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Do you sell bricks in small quantities?

We price whole packs as standard because that is how bricks leave the works. For small repairs ask anyway: we will tell you honestly whether part packs are possible for the brick you need.

Can you match my existing bricks?

Often, yes. Send the brick name if you have it, or a daylight photo of a clean face with a tape measure for scale. We will look for the nearest match in current ranges and can usually arrange a sample before you commit to a full order.
